Passing the driving test isn’t the same as being ready for the road. Many teens and adults earn their license without learning how to handle Colorado’s challenging driving conditions, from slick, snowy roads to fast-paced highway traffic. Every new driver deserves more than just a passing score — they deserve the skills to stay safe and the confidence to:
At Anshor Driving School, defensive driving techniques are behind everything we’ve taught since 1994: every classroom hour, every behind-the-wheel lesson, every conversation with our instructors. Our students are leaders on the road, wearing their seatbelt, putting down their phone, and making smart decisions to keep themselves and other drivers on the road safe.
Every student’s path looks a little different. Pick the service that fits where you’re starting from, then check pricing at your nearest Anshor location.
Bundle your classroom or online course with behind-the-wheel instruction, the most popular way families complete their teen driver’s ed program with Anshor.
As a state-approved third-party testing site, Anshor can administer the Colorado written permit test right here at our locations. Students who are within 30 days of their 15th birthday may be eligible to take their permit test in class, depending on state guidelines at the time of enrollment. Walk-in written permit tests are also available.
We offer both a 30-hour in-person classroom course and a 30-hour online driver’s ed program in partnership with AAA. The online course is self-paced, interactive, and state-approved, making it a great fit for students with busy schedules or families outside our classroom locations.
As a state-approved third-party testing site, Anshor lets you schedule your Colorado driving test directly with us at participating locations and test with experienced examiners. This service is available to the general public, not just Anshor students.
Anshor Driving School was founded by Duane Anderson, a former Driver’s Education instructor at Greeley West and Greeley Central High Schools. Before opening Anshor in 1994, Duane spent years teaching driver’s ed to Greeley students in the classroom. That experience and that passion for keeping young drivers safe is still the foundation of everything we do.
Today, Anshor is locally owned and operated by Tracy Anderson, who has been part of the Anshor family since 2015. Tracy and her team bring that same community-first approach to every student who walks through our doors.
Choose the program that fits your student: the full teen driver’s ed package (classroom or online plus behind-the-wheel), a standalone behind-the-wheel lesson, or a road test reservation. Enroll online or call our team at your nearest Anshor location.
When you complete your Anshor driver’s education program, you’ll leave knowing how to drive, not just how to pass a test. Our instructors use up-to-date teaching techniques, interactive group work, and real-world coaching to make sure every student is genuinely prepared for Colorado roads.
Colorado law generally requires minors to hold their permit for one full year (365 days) before taking the road test. Requirements can vary depending on the student’s age and licensing path, so we recommend confirming your specific timeline with our team or the Colorado DMV.
We currently have locations in Greeley, Alamosa, La Junta, and Salida, Colorado. Each office offers driver’s ed classes, behind-the-wheel lessons, and road test scheduling. Visit our locations page for addresses, hours, and class schedules.
